Local Concepts to Mix with National Brands

WINNIPEG – July 7, 2009 – Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. (WAA) is pleased to name concessions who will operate in the new air terminal building under construction at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport.

Exciting concessions will be available beyond security while maintaining a comprehensive food, beverage and retail concessions mix on the non-secure side for employees and meeters/greeters.

“Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport has been transforming. While construction of the new air terminal building is well underway, transformation of amenities and services has been a focus”, said Barry Rempel, President and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority Inc. “We are pleased to be working with master concessionaires The Paradies Shops for retail and SSP Canada who will oversee food and beverage service. Both have a proven track record in an airport environment and we are pleased to have them on board.”

The Paradies Shops will oversee the national brands of PGA Tour Shop, CNBC News and Rosetta Stone, as well as local brands McNally Robinson Booksellers and Toad Hall Toys. Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory will also have a storefront in the new air terminal building.

SSP Canada will oversee food and beverage brands of TGI Fridays, Upper Crust Bakery, Stella’s Café and Bakery, Tim Hortons, Salisbury House, Gondola Pizza, Rice Tales, and Starbucks.
