Follow the BLUE LINE to Parking

Jul 31, 2009

Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) launched “Follow the Blue Line to Parking” campaign to assist airport visitors during final airport campus roadwork.

“Convenient parking is an essential element of a travel experience and our Follow the Blue Line to Parking campaign addresses those needs.” said Barry Rempel, President and CEO of WAA. “As we build for the future, interim construction requirements are shifting familiar customer patterns. This unique program enhances customer service as we bridge to the new processes and assures our community that we remain responsive to their needs. ”

This year’s construction means roadways are aligned to planned final infrastructure and scheduled for completion by year end. In an effort to communicate to customers, Winnipeg Airports Authority developed a multimedia marketing and communications campaign to direct visitors at the airport.

A blue line is painted on the roadway beginning at airport property right to the entrance of the 1,600 stall, fourlevel Parkade.

Along with the painted blue line to the parkade, roadway signage along airport property is placed for additional assistance. As well, easy to follow graphics have been painted on the parkade pavement and provide direction to the existing air terminal building.

To provide further assistance, the “Blue Line Group” comprised of students, Goldwing Ambassadors and employee volunteers will provide directional assistance.

Winnipeg Airports Authority is a non-share capital corporation responsible for the management and operation of Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport and affiliate businesses. All surplus revenue over expenses is reinvested by WAA back into the community, primarily through airport development projects. WAA is self sufficient with taxpayers not directly involved in financing airport site redevelopment.

Winnipeg Airports Authority serves our region by providing value to our customers and community. A source of pride for our community, we strive to be a leader in its growth and development.
